I recently, moved to Nags Head, NC fr. Va. Beach, VA. I am taxed for Over the Counter medication, every time purchased. I did not believe Over the Counter medication was taxed. I went through all my Medical Quartely receipts & found that I am taxed by many stores here in NC for Over the Counter medication.

Instead of rewarding bad behavior by spending trillions of dollars to bail out the institutions responsible for the current crisis, would you consider supporting student loan forgiveness to stimulate our ailing economy? Doing so would have an immediate effect because the middle class student borrowers who actually drive 2/3 of our economy would have hundreds,if not thousands of extra dollars to spend PER MONTH, allowing the economy to begin to grow while helping real people with real struggles.

I believe that one of the most ignored problems in this country is the massive cost, both social and economic, of the maintenance of our massive prison system. Especially during these difficult economic times, this is a cost that our country cannot continue to bear. What are your thoughts on the possibility of prison reform, especially in the area of drug crime?

When will you appoint a Special Prosecutor to investigate the gravest crimes of the Bush Administration, including torture and warrantless wiretapping?

Polls consistently show the majority of Americans strongly support a single-payer healthcare system. In a recent survey conducted by New York Times/CBS (1/11-15/09), respondents indicated they preferred a single-payer model 2 to 1 over a privatized system. Why then, is a single-payer model not being seriously considered and discussed as part of the major healthcare reform proposals under your administration?

The Drug War has been a demonstrable failure costing 40 billion plus for decades. Meanwhile, drugs are cheaper and more available than ever. Don't you think it's time to change the focus of the Drug War from a criminal matter to one of public health and stop this foolishness once and for all?
